Eliakim and the Ten Plagues

As a Hebrew slave in Pharaoh’s palace, Eliakim had learned to listen and report everything he heard. He was just like a spy! This would be his biggest job of all: report on how Pharaoh reacts when Moses and Aaron arrive and tell Pharaoh he must let God’s people go. That means Eliakim will have to keep serving in the palace, even while the Nile river turns to blood, and flies cover everything, and frogs leap out of every nook and corner—they even get baked into the royal family’s bread! Eliakim wonders, How many plagues will there be? How many times will Pharaoh refuse to release the Israelites? And just how much will God do to free His people?

Benjamin and Feeding the 5,000

Benjamin loved working with the fishermen at the Sea of Galilee. He was only eight years old, but his father let him run through Capernaum all by himself because he knew everyone, and he was the best fish salesmen at the market. One day everything changed when his friends Andrew and Peter didn’t show up to fish. Their partner, Zebedee, told Benjamin they left to follow Jesus, the Messiah. Could it be true? thought Benjamin. He had heard stories about the Messiah, the one who would save Israel. But was this the right person? So Benjamin began to investigate. Soon he heard about Jesus performing miracles. Then he heard Jesus teach, and even saw a miracle himself. No matter how much he tried, he could not get close to Jesus or Andrew to ask them, Is this the Messiah? Then one day Benjamin saw a crowd going to hear Jesus preach and to heal. Where was the crowd going? He wanted to follow, but his mother had already warned him not to be late. But he had to find Andrew. He had to know! Was this Jesus the Messiah?

Angelki summary

Angeliki and the Shipwreck

Trapped in a hurricane on a sinking ship!

Angeliki had a good life in Colossae—the daughter of an official Roman interpreter, an easy life with plenty of food and clothes and friends. But storm clouds blew all that away. Now she has to move all the way to Rome, center of the world, and leave everything she knew. Would they even arrive in Rome? Angeliki and her family must crowd onto a ship loaded not only with grain for Rome, but also with a group of criminals guarded by a few Roman soldiers. To make matters worse, travel is forbidden except by special order due to the storms that had ended many journeys and lives. As they travel, the winds and waves crash and threaten to sink the ship and all aboard. The crew and soldiers pray to their gods, but none can help. Only a group of three men—Paul, Luke, and Aristarchus—and one of them a prisoner, is unafraid because the God they serve is with them. Can Angeliki learn to trust these men and their God? Or will the ship and everyone on board drown in the merciless sea?
