Illuminators Book 1
Out of the Darkness

How would you like an app on your phone that made people tell the truth? That’s what Braden gets when he wants to know the truth about God. Is He real? Can we know for sure? Why does he let bad things happen? Why don’t other people believe in Him? Could they be right?

The light from the app helps Braden and his friends see through the shadows of doubt and the darkness of lies in order to find the real truth about God, what other people think about God, even the truth about themselves!

The Illuminators series is a fictional companion to the Apologetics Press non-fiction Defenders series for youth age 11 and up.

Illuminators Book 2
Into the Light

“The Bible? That’s just a bunch of stories people made up to make you act they way they want,” said Anajha’s brother Troy. Anajha didn’t think so, but how could she be sure? She’d been reading her Bible stories, but now she wondered: was it okay to test God to prove the Bible was true? Was God afraid of questions? Then she found a verse: “Test everything. Hold to that which is good.” So, she, Braden, Jeremy, Maggie, and Eric but the Bible through a series of tests--including a trip around the world!--to discover if God’s word really is God’s word. The answers will make the Illuminators app brighter than ever, or make it go out for good!

Illuminators Book 3
Know the Light

“Why do I have to do everything Jesus says?” As soon as he asked, Jeremy knew it was a mistake. So did his mom. That’s why she grounded him from video games for a week. But maybe it was a good question. Why did Jeremy, or anyone else, have to do what Jesus says? Who is Jesus, that He can tell people what they should do? Jeremy knew Jesus was the Son of God—but what exactly did that mean? None of the other Illuminators could tell him, either. “Maybe we’d better find out just who Jesus is,” thought Jeremy. So the Illuminators—Jeremy, Braden, Anajha, Eric, and Maggie—work together to find out about Jesus. They test His miracles, they test His claims to be God, they test His resurrection—to see if He really is the Son of God, and if they really should always do as Jesus says. Together they learn how to Know the Light—Jesus, the Light of Life.
